Showing an Android phone on the map takes two steps:

- Turning on location services on the phone itself

- Enabling location sharing for that user in the web portal.

Both are required.

Android covers many brands — Samsung, Google, Motorola and others — so your menus may differ slightly from the screenshots below.

Step 1 — Enable Location Services on the Phone

  1. Open the Settings app on the Android phone.

Step 2 — Enable Location Sharing in the Web Portal

Requires admin access.

  1. Go to portal.tabletcommand.com/login and sign in.

  2. On the left, select Admin Features > Users.

  1. Find the user whose Android location you want on the map.

  2. In the Location section, check Share Location (Phone) and make sure Hide From Map is unchecked.

Not showing up on the map?

Both steps need to be completed. If the phone has location services on but the portal checkbox is unchecked — or the other way round — the device will not appear. Check Hide From Map too, since it overrides location sharing.

On Android, also confirm the permission is set to allow location all the time. “Only while using the app” stops reporting the moment the app goes to the background.
